PETER HOOK-UNKNOWN PLEASURES

FESTIVAL EXCLUSIVE: PETER HOOK TO PERFORM UNKNOWN PLEASURES LIVE · 5 STAGES OF FUTURE ROCK N ROLL AND ELECTRONIC ACTION PLUS 10 AFTERSHOW PARTIES FOR ONLY £20 (£15 TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE AT ROUGH TRADE EAST) www.the1234shoreditch.com Following last week’s announcement of rock supergroup The Silver Machine (consisting of members from Primal Scream, Sex Pistols and Oasis) being added to the lineup, THE 1234 Festival are proud to confirm another member of rock royalty - Joy Division and New Order bassist, Peter Hook. He will be performing Joy Division’s seminal 1979 debut album, Unknown Pleasures, live and exclusive for London’s most debauched punk rock shindig THE1234 SHOREDITCH. To mark the 30th anniversary of the death of late single Ian Curtis, “Hooky” was joined by a host of guests on May 18th at the newly refurbished former Factory Records site FAC251 in Manchester to perform the classic album in full. For those that didn’t get a chance to catch him there or on his recent “Evening of Unknown Pleasures” tour, he will now be performing this important work exclusively for The 1234 festival. He commented, "London became Joy Division's second home, we played there more than Manchester, more than anywhere else in the world! I'm delighted to be playing Unknown Pleasures for the second time in our second home! The only time and the only place I will be playing it in England." Festival director Sean Mclusky commented “I heard a rumour that Peter Hook had performed his seminal Joy Division album Unknown Pleasures in its entirety in Manchester a few weeks ago, he was playing with his band The Light at the new FACTORY club on the anniversary of Ian Curtis’ death. I had to have this for THE1234 as an exclusive London show. And we have! I mean I know people in Shoreditch that have the cover of UNKNOWN PLEASURES tattooed on their bodies!” This performance alone is worth the ticket price, but to keep pulses racing check out the full line up list of future rock ‘n’ roll and electronic action below… A1 BASSLINE |ACTION BEAT |A GRAVE WITH NO NAME|AUTOKRATZ|BABESHADOW| BITCHES |BLOOD MUSIC | BO NINGEN|BRETON |CIVIL CIVIC|CLUB THE MAMMOTH| COMANECHI|COOL FOR CATS|CRISIS IN TASTE |DARK HORSES|DEADLY RHYTHM SOUNDSYSTEM|DAVE DORRELL|DECASIA|DEVINE INCEST|DDD|DEEP SHT | DOLLOP| DON’T DIE JUST YET|DRUM EYES|DT |DUM DUM GIRLS|FLATS|FRANCO | FUCKED UP|GALVANISED|HIND EAR |HOCUS TOCUS|HUMAN HAIR| INVASION|JAVIER RAZZMATAZZ|JIM SCLAVUNOS|KILL THE DANDIES| KOOL KIDS KLUB|LELE (SPEAKS) | LA SHARK|LONGMEG|LE VOLUME COURBE | MARIA & THE MIRRORS| MATTHEW WOWOW |MAZES |MIM (BLACK CAB SESSIONS) |NECRO DEATHMORT|NO BRA| NO CARS |NOT COOL|NUKE EM ALL|ONEMAN |OPTIMO | PETER HOOK |PULL IN EMERGENCY|QUEENS OF NOIZE |RANDOM IMPULSE |ROLO TOMASI|SCREAMING TEA PARTY|S.C.U.M|SHARKS SHUNDA K (YO MAJESTY!)| SMASH & GRAB|SONIC MOOK EXPERIMENT| SPECTRALS| STEVE MORELL | STILL CORNERS |SUNDERBANS| SWATHES |THE LOVELY JONJO |THE LONG MARCH |THE PRE NEW (PRESENT EARL BRUTUS) |THE PROPER ORNAMENTS|THE RULLING CLASS |THE TAMBORINES |THE TOES|THESE NEW PURITANS|THE SILVER MACHINE | THINGS I NEVER TOLD YOU| THRUSH METAL | TODDLA T & MC SEROCEE | TRAILER TRASH TRACYS|TRONIK YOUTH|TURBOGEIST|ULPA |VERONICA FALLS VIC GODARD & SUBWAY SECT|VICTOR TALKING MACHINE|VIVIAN GIRLS|VON HAZE|VONDLEPARK|WAVVES|WE HAVE BAND| ZOMBIE ZOMBIE| THE1234 continues late into Saturday night aftershows in clubs and venues around the Shoreditch triangle.
