Sample tracks from Elitism For The People.
The band also have a series of UK dates later this month…
16 July: Komedia, Brighton, UK
17 July: Nell’s Jazz & Blues Club, London, UK
18 July: Latitude Festival, UK
19 July: Rhythm Tree Festival, Didge Cafe, Isle of Wight
23 July: The Musician, Leicester
24 July: Wickerman Festival, Scotland
Still fronted by David Thomas, Pere Ubu were born out of the same Cleveland scene that spawned The Dead Boys. Describing their sound as ‘avant garage’, their early singles and debut album The Modern Dance were hugely influential, not least on the likes of Joy Division, Wire and REM.
