OVER THE TOP!

MOTÖRHEAD are to have their two classic 1979 albums reissued in celebration of their 40th Anniversaries.

Overkill, released in March '79, and Bomber, which followed in October, catapulted the trio into the major league, scooting up the album charts, with their title tracks breaching the Top 30 of the singles charts, paving the way for the following year's Ace Of Spades.

Each album will be available in deluxe hardback book format in double-CD and triple-vinyl editions.

The releases will be accompanied by a spectacular collectors' box set, 1979. The set will feature both the original Overkill and Bomber albums half-speed mastered and pressed on 180 gram vinyl created from the original master tapes; two double-live albums of previously unheard concert material from ’79 shows at Aylesbury Friars and La Rotunde in Le Mans; a 40-page period-accurate ‘music magazine’ featuring unseen photos and fresh interviews regarding the era; The Rest of ’79 vinyl, featuring B-sides, outtakes and rare tracks; ‘No Class’ 7” single with gatefold art; the Bomber tour programme; Overkill sheet music book, and finally, a ’79 badge set.

All this comes encased in an elaborate black biker jacket box.

Years in the making, these projects came to fruition with the assistance of key people who were part of their ’79 circle of friends, crew, and accomplices and with access to the band’s extensive private archives. The same level of attention to detail is promised on future projects.
