NEW ERA, NEW CONFLICT!

NEW ERA, NEW CONFLICT!

As Europe and the world teeters on the brink of destabilisation, anarcho legends CONFLICT have announced their first new album in more than two decades.

The band, formed in Eltham, South-East London in 1981, released their debut single 'The House That Man Built’ through Crass Records the following year and have remained at the forefront of the UK and European anarcho scene ever since.

New album This Much Remains is set for release on 25 April on their own Mortarhate label via Cadiz Music. Featuring sixteen new tracks, the album features an appearance by Benjamin Zephaniah on the song 'Cut The Crap'. The legendary Rasta poet, who passed away in December '23, had a long friendship with the band since their performance together at Brixton Academy in '87.

“Benjamin is a legend, and I really felt a weight of responsibility when writing the adjoining lyrics to this song,” says Fiona Friel, one of the band's two singers. “I had some of his books, so I went to peruse through them and started with ‘Windrush Child’ as I felt the subject matter would tie in well. Immediately I saw the line 'I am history' and that’s all I needed. I put the book straight down and wrote and wrote and wrote. So much so, once in the studio I had to cut over half of what I had written. I hope I’ve done him proud.”
