DROPKICK MURPHYS herald their new album with a brand new single and video.
'Who'll Stand With Us?' is the first single from the Boston band's forthcoming thirteenth album For The People; described in the press release as "a call for unity, a return to sanity" and might just as well be called 'Who'll Stand With US?', given their homeland's increasing isolation from the rest of the western world at the hands of the Trump administration.
The Murphys have never been shy of telling it like it is and standing up for truth and justice, and as with all great protest singers and songwriters, the current political climate is but grist to their motivational mill and finds the band in their creative - and, as recent live shows have proven, confrontational - element.
In keeping with the band's ethos, band founder and frontman Ken Casey backed up the band's recent fundraising for Ukrainian aid efforts by participating in a humanitarian aid convoy to the beleaguered country.
With a sleeve design by renowned socio-political artist Shepard Fairey's design firm Studio Number One and production by longtime collaborator Ted Hutt, For The People features a number of special guests, including longtime vocalist Al Barr, on hiatus from the band since 2022, plus Dublin folk-metallers The Scratch, Dundalk rabble-rousers The Mary Wallopers and the one and only Billy Bragg.
Released digitally on 4 July via the band's own Dummy Luck imprint via PIAS, For The People is available to pre-save here with a vinyl and CD release set for 10 October.
