Music-news.com reports ’80s rock band Big Country will reform with a four-show U.K. tour in January 2011.

Best known for songs like “Fields of Fire” and “In a Big Country,” their debut album The Crossing was a multi-million selling worldwide smash.

The band were lead by Stuart Adamson who sadly committed suicide in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 2001. Mike Peters of The Alarm will take his place.

Bass player Tony Butler said: “To play again as Big Country was something that was only going to happen if we could find someone who could compliment the band and sing the songs in the way they need to be sung; with heart and soul. Mike Peters from The Alarm has stepped in to fill the premise for a few shows. It’s about time the songs got another airing, and we think Stuart would be pleased too.”

Big Country U.K. tour dates:

5 - Newcastle - O2 Academy
6 - London Islington - O2 Academy
7 - Birmingham - O2 Academy
