Mick Jones' Rock & Roll Public Library returns this week with a second edition of it's perdiodic magazine and a an undated return of the exhibition that was so successful this Spring.
With the theme 'London Electric', RRPL No.2 will have a choice of three covers with contributions from Viv Albertine, Tom Vague and Jon Savage amongst others. Says Mick, “The magazine to me is like a record, with each article a separate track and it tells a story – my story. And by extension through our shared culture, all of our stories. I hope that anyone who reads it will enjoy it.”
The magazine will be launched with an updated instalment of the RRPL exhibition at The Art Pavilion, Mile End Park, Clinton Rd, London E3 4QY from Thursday 13th Sept - Thursday 18th Sept inclusive (11am – 8pm daily). The exhibition will include: a retro recreation of a living room where visitors can use items from the archive such as Mick’s home recorded VHS tapes, books, comics and newspapers from another time; guests can browse through and listen to a selection of his record collection in a recreation of a 1970’s listening booth.
Copies of both magazines will be available to by at the exhibition or to order here.
