MARGATE'S MOD BANK HOLIDAY

MARGATE'S MOD BANK HOLIDAY

The Mods will be returning to Margate over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend of 22-25 May for a celebration of Mod culture.
Fifty years on from the notorious Mods vs Rockers seafront battles with headlines like Wild Ones Beat Up Margate, the Kent town will host live bands, DJs, a scooter show, record fair, dance competition and more over three nights and two days.
Promoters Great British Media & Culture – a partnership of Eli Thompson of Margate Soul Weekend and Rob Bailey of New Untouchables – have put together an excellent programme, including live headline sets from Medway acts The James Taylor Quartet and Graham Day & The Forefathers, plus tribute band The Small Fakers.
Nighttime events take place at the Westcoast Club on the town’s King Street, with the daytime events, including a Battle Of The Bands stage, in the piazza opposite.
Tickets – either for the whole weekend or for individual events - can be purchased here.
