Legendary post-punk guitarist JOHN McGEOCH is to be celebrated in a new documentary, if an online fundraising campaign reaches its target.
The Light Pours Out Of Me will tell the story of the guitarist from Greenock whose majestic, incandescent playing enlivened releases and shows by MAGAZINE, SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES, VISAGE, GEN X and PUBLIC IMAGE LTD, influencing the likes of Johnny Marr, the Edge, John Frusciante, Robert Smith, Steve Albini and Dave Navarro.
The film, by directors Paul Sng (Poly Styrene: I Am A Cliché, Sleaford Mods: Invisible Britain) and Nicola Black (Mirrorball), is based on the acclaimed biography of the same name by Rory Sullivan-Burke which includes original interviews with Siouxsie Sioux, Howard Devoto, Johnny Marr, Billy Idol, John Frusciante, Keith Levene, Jonny Greenwood, Nick Launay, Ed O’Brien, Peter Hook and more.
