JELLO BIAFRA US TOUR

Jello Biafra And The Guantanamo School of Medicine Announce UXO Concert Cruise Performance, May 28th in New York UXO Tour Dates w/ The Coup, Anti-Flag, Tom Morello, Wayne Kramer and More! On the heels of their critically acclaimed debut album, "The Audacity of Hype," supported by mindblowing and energetic live shows around the US (including dates opening for the newly reunited Faith No More), Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School of Medicine have announced a special New York performance taking place next Friday, May 28th. Working in conjunction with Rocks Off Concert Cruises and as part of the UXO Tour supporting GI Resistance, the event marks the kickoff of UXO's nationwide tour including performances and events around the country featuring the likes of The Coup, Anti-Flag, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Wayne Kramer of MC5, Tim Barry of Avail and more. About The UXO Tour to Support GI Resistance: With Paper Garden Records extending its branches in creative new directions on a daily basis, we are thrilled to announce our alignment with some truly legendary musicians to support a cause that we truly believe in. The idea of music intertwining with politics in support of a movement to help influence the general consensus isn't exactly a new one, but the objective behind the UXO tour makes it difficult to deny that the organizers behind this project are taking an approach that will make people sit up straight and listen... then stand up and resist! With an all-star lineup of bands including everyone from Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine and Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman to Anti-Flag, the UXO Tour has stepped outside of the stereotype of anti-war propoganda and put an innovative spin on the objective in order to appeal to everyone from the supporting troups and politicians to the general public and artistic and music communities by creating a genuinely stellar atmosphere and party element to each of the shows along the 6-month long tour. The term UXO stands for Unexploded Ordinance. In military terms, a UXO is "an explosive that did not detonate when employed and still possess a risk of detonation" – an apt metaphor for the groundswell of GI resistance to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, a movement that the UXO tour's organizers see as "charged and waiting to explode." The tour is intended to give an active voice to soldiers who oppose the wars, and inspire resistance-organizing within the GI community. Active duty soldiers will be granted free access to the shows. Kicking off with two shows aboard The Temptress (yes, that's a boat!) during NYC's Fleet Week as part of the Rocks Off Concert Cruise Series, the anti-war music event will be brought to military communities throughout the summer. The tour will wrap in September with a show on the National Mall in Washington DC. * photo by Elizabeth Sloan The Audacity of Hype Tracklist 1. The Terror of Tinytown 2. Clean As A Thistle 3.
