Enigmatic East Anglian art-rockers EELS! EELS! EELS! have just released their debut EP Eel Land, featuring lead track 'Owls'.
Summoning the spirit of the region's mysterious rustic folklore, the trio recorded the EP in the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk borderlands at Grange Farm Studios near Wisbech with producer/engineer Isi Clarke.
Despite the rural setting, the track calls to mind the suburban post-punk intensity of the likes of Television, Wire and Girls In Synthesis.
"'Owls' explores the struggle of feeling isolated and unsupported," say the band. "It has a
drive on long stretches of land, with a gung ho attitude, ready to face anything that is
thrown at them.”
