The Picture House in Edinburgh and The Barbican Centre in London will be host to the legendary Mott The Hoople frontman when he plays his first solo gigs in the UK since selling out the Shepherds Bush Empire in October 2007. He has of course graced a London stage since then - 2009 saw the long-awaited reunion of Rock and Roll heroes MOTT THE HOOPLE. Fronted by Ian Hunter they played five Sold Out shows at the Hammersmith Apollo to a rapturous reception from both fans and critics alike, the audiences roaring along to the Hunter-penned hits ŒAll The Young Dudes¹ , ŒAll The Way From Memphis¹, ŒRoll Away The Stone¹ and ŒThe Golden Age Of Rock Œn¹ Roll¹. IAN HUNTER has produced a matchless repertoire of music combining homage, honesty and killer hooks. He was one of the toughest and most inventive writers of the early 70s paving the way for punk rock with his thought provoking and gritty songs. As a solo performer he has also succeeded with an eclectic catalogue of superbly intelligent albums and a dedicated following, responsible for instantly recognizable classics such as ³Once Bitten, Twice Shy², ³Cleveland Rocks² and many more. For both his solo output and work with Mott The Hoople, Ian Hunter has been cited as a huge inspiration by numerous artists including The Clash, REM, Oasis, Blur and Primal Scream. Currently signed to New West Records, his thirteenth solo album, ŒMan Overboard¹ was released in May 2009.
