Ontario punks AMONG LEGENDS have announced the release of their long-awaited second album.
Formed in the university city of Waterloo in 2016, the band built a solid reputation on the back of DIY gigs and festivals on both sides of the borders, before dropping their pre-Pandemic-recorded debut album Take Good Care in 2022.
By that time the band's sound and line-up had moved on with bassist/singer Mitchell Buchanan and drummer/singer Sara Fellin joined by guitarist Byler Boles, eschewing the pop-punk of yore to make the 12-track Lose My Grip an altogether rawer, more direct affair.
“Our last record came out four years ago, but it was recorded seven years ago," explains Buchanan. "We’re not the same band anymore and I think that’s evident in the way this record sounds. Stability has been a hard feeling to find in recent years, and this record covers some of the different experiences that come with instability. It’s a lot of looking around and asking ‘How did we get here?’ whether that’s about the state of our countries, our communities, our relationships or ourselves.”
First off, the band have dropped single/video 'H/A/C/K'...
Set for release on 10 July through Little Rocket, Lose My Grip is available to pre-order here.
