Goldblade new single 'England's Still Dreaming' Goldblade release their world cup anthem Goldblade release their world cup song 'England's Still Dreaming' on May 24th, a fiercely catchy anthem, it is already one of the unofficial world cup anthems of 2010 with extensive radio and TV play starting this week. The song is to be used extensively on TV coverage of the world cup and the band will be flying out to South Africa to perform at several world cup functions in June. The song, of course, comes with a twist with the band singing about a fantasy football team of counter culture icons like Bob Marley, Joe Strummer, Syd Barrett, Marc Bolan, Patti Smith, Lee Scratch Perry, Frida Khalo, Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Iggy Pop playing alongside historical genius like Leonardo Da Vinci and Ghandi and captained by George Best in what Goldblade consider to be the most unbeatable team of all time. The band are also recording a Portuguese version of the song for Brazil where the band are really popular. Goldblade are playing several festivals over the summer including a headline slot at Rebellion festival in Blackpool on August 12th. The single comes with a rebel folk mix and a dub mix from the band.
