GLAM RACKET!

GLAM RACKET!

The loose ends of 70s junk-shop glam and boot-boy rock are tied up on a new box set, out next month.

All The Young Droogs: 60 Juvenile Delinquent Wrecks follows on from previous compilations Velvet Tinmine, Glitterbest and Boobs, released on RPM through Cherry Red.

Compiled by junk-shop glam archivist and musician Phil King, the three CD set features a handful of well-known names, including MOTT THE HOOPLE, IGGY & THE STOOGES, BE BOP DELUXE, TASTE and THIRD WORLD WAR.

There's also a smattering of Down Under gems from the likes of SUPERNAUT featuring Garry Twinn of Twenty Flight Rockers fame, Steve Kilbey's pre-Church band BABY GRANDE and STEVIE WRIGHT ex of The Easybeats.

For the most part, though, the running order represents a refreshing roll-call of shouldabeens and also-rans like RAY OWEN'S MOON, MILK'N'COOKIES, THE BRATS, GLO MACARI, IRON VIRGIN, HECTOR, HOT ROD, REDHEAD, HUSTLER, BILBO BAGGINS, STUD LEATHER, BUSTER, BRETT SMILEY, JOHN HOWARD, HELTER SKELTER and loads more.

The whole set is illuminated by a glamorous 36-page booklet.

All The Young Droogs is set for release on 25 January. It's available to pre-order here.
