New York garage legends THE FUZZTONES are to have their story told in a new documentary, which is premiering in London next month.
Formed in 1980 by singer/guitarist Rudi Protrudi band emerged from the NYC bar circuit with debut single 'Bad News Travels Fast' and 1985 debut album Lysergic Emanations, a ubiquitous presence in bedsits across Europe, which, with its mix of originals and covers, introduced neophytes to the joys of The Haunted, The Sonics, The Godz and more.
The band soon splintered, with Protrudi forming a new West Coast-based line-up and the band has continued with various comings and going to this day.
Directed by Danny Garcia, The Fuzztones vs The World tells the band's incredible story with archive footage and interviews with band members old and new, as well as fans and pundits such as Jayne County and Lenny Kaye.
Presented by Chip Baker Films and Music Film Network, The Fuzztones vs The World will premiere on 29 January at London's 100 Club, with freaky sounds provided before and after by DJ Keb Darge.
