FLIPPER AT 40!

FLIPPER AT 40!

San Francisco rockers FLIPPER are celebrating their 40th Anniversary with a European tour.

Flipper debuted in 1979 on the SF Underground 7'' compilation EP with the track 'Earthworm'. This was followed by the singles 'Love Canal' c/w 'Ha Ha Ha' and the classic 'Sex Bomb' c/w 'Brainwash' in 1981, a song that has now been covered countless times over the years. The band's debut album Generic Flipper (released in 1982) is considered a classic, and remains Flipper's most acclaimed album of their prolific career, which includes four studio albums and five live releases.

"They were just heavy," wrote Henry Rollins in his essential memoir Get In The Van. "Heavier than you. Heavier than anything…When they played they were amazing."

For their 40th Anniversary Tour, founding members Ted Falconi and Steve DePace are joined by Scratch Acid and Jesus Lizard frontman David Yow and Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist Mike Watt.

Kicking off on 30 July in Nottingham and climaxing in Berlin on 20 August, the tour includes an appearance at Rebellion on 1 August and a London show at The Garage on 4 August. Full dates are...
