Next month, fast-rising Anglo-Brazilian tearaways FANTAZMAZ join retooled hardcore legends INSTIGATORS and hot young West Country upstarts QUICK ROMANCE at a very special edition of Vive Le Rock Presents... at London's iconic 100 Club.
Already an explosive force to be reckoned with, they recently beefed up their sound with former UK Subs drummer Jamie Oliver and onetime Damned and Godfathers bassist Jon Priestley joining the ranks. The band dropped by Vive Towers to give us the latest...
How did this band from Brazil end up with former members of the Damned and UK Subs making such a glorious racket?
With Jamie, we hired him to play a couple of shows and it was just such a good fit. We went to see the Bronx together and we asked if he’d consider joining permanently and as it happens he was already going to ask us the same thing. With Jon, we put out a post saying we were looking for a fulltime bassist since we were working with Rex Roulette, formerly of Eagles Of Death Metal, and he couldn’t commit permanently. Jon responded fast and Jamie was very excited to try him out since they’re good friends. He fits in perfectly. We don’t see them as the former U.K. Subs drummer and Damned bass player though, they’re just a big pair of goofballs to us!
Is there a new album on the way? And you are playing a rare London show for Vive Le Rock at the 100 Club on Friday 21st August. What can we expect?
We’re currently writing a load of new songs but we haven’t decided on whether it’ll be a new album, EP or a bunch of singles, so you’ll just have to wait and see. You can follow our socials to keep up with the news though. Yes! And we are thrilled to be part of it so thanks for inviting us. We’ve been working on a brand new set which we aired at Hellfest and it went down a storm. We’re known for our high energy frenetic live show and it’s gone up another gear. Expect a headache.
