 Edwyn Collins Announces details of new single and 100 Club show.  Edwyn Collins has announced details of the release of a new single, Losing Sleep, the first to be taken from his forthcoming 7th solo long-player of the same name.   Losing Sleep will be released through Heavenly Recordings on Monday September 13th 2010, the same day as the album.   Released on 7² and download, it will include the B-sides It¹s The Reason on download and an instrumental version of Losing Sleep on the 7². The single was recorded at Edwyn¹s own West Heath Studios as part of the album sessions between November 2008 and May 2010 and was produced by Edwyn and Sebastian Lewsley The pair have worked together since 1993 and more recently stood shoulder to shoulder as Edwyn regained his studio skills. The album features tracks co-written with Johnny Marr, Roddy Frame, Alex Kapranos & Nick McCarthy of Franz Ferdinand, Romeo Stodart of The Magic Numbers, Ryan Jarman of The Cribs and The Drums and is the first long-player Edwyn¹s written and recorded since his serious illness in 2005.   Edwyn has also just announced a very special show at London¹s 100 Club where he will preview tracks from the album. Support comes from The Kinbeats, a young German band Edwyn loved so much he decided to produce their record at his West Heath Studio.   There are also a number of further performances over the summer and a headline show at London¹s Queen Elizabeth Hall. Edwyn has also received the great honour of being chosen to be this year¹s Chieftain of the Helmsdale Highland Games (www.helmsdalegames.info <http://www.helmsdalegames.info> ), a hugely important ceremonial role where he will be responsible for the opening and closing of the games. Edwyn spends a number of months each year in Helmsdale on the East coast of Scotland in a family home, which has played a huge part in his rehabilitation.
