The good news is that SUPERSUCKERS frontman EDDIE SPAGHETTI declared last week that after months of major surgery and radiation treatment for throat cancer, he is now cancer-free!
However, it’s not all good news, as he revealed on his Facebook page: “The downsides are that I can no longer grow a manly beard (the only thing I can muster up is this stupid "cop mustache". Ugh) and that my neck is now blackish red (quite literally, like a beet!).”
Vive Le Rock wishes Eddie all the best for his recuperation an looks forward to seeing him back in action soon! But those medical bills won’t pay themselves so New Jersey label Capacitor Records are issuing a benefit compilation album You Can’t Kill Rock’n’Roll, with all proceeds going to the Spaghetti family. Featuring sixteen tracks from the likes of MUDHONEY, ZEKE, COFFIN BREAK, THE LUCKY BOYS, THE DERELICTS, THE BLACK CLOUDS and the Supersuckers themselves, it’s available to order here. Dig deep, rockers!
Also, a London benefit for Eddie has been orgnaised for Saturday 28 November. It’s taking place at The Hope & Anchor, Islongton and features sets from THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS, TRAVIS CUT and RUBBERLEGS with one other act to be announced. Tickets are £7 in advance (£10 OTD) and are available here.
Meanwhile, the Supersuckers’ country record Holdin’ The Bag is out now and available here.
