The latest band the emerge from the thriving Melbourne punk scene, THE PRIZE have unveiled a second tracks from their forthcoming debut EP.
'Easy Way Out' follows on from the release of their debut digital single and also the title track of the EP, 'Wrong Side Of Town'. The band will be celebrating the EPs physical release with a special launch show at Melbourne's John Curtin Hotel on 1 October before heading out nationally with THE CHATS.
"'Easy Way Out' was the first song we wrote as a band," says singing drummer Nadine Muller. "After finally hearing it recorded, I think we all found a new appreciation for the song that solidified us. You don't have to 'read between the lines' to figure out what it's about!"
Formed early last year, the band's hybrid garage-rock/powerpop sound has been compared to The Nerves, Thin Lizzy, Flamin' Groovies and homeland heroes The Divynyls. This is underlined by their stunning cover - also on the EP - of 'Fighting My Way Back' by Nuneaton powerpop legends, and Vive Le Rock faves, The Incredible Kidda Band.
