A new documentary telling the story of legendary Essex punks NEWTOWN NEUROTICS is set to hit screens across the UK next month.
Kick Out! The Newtown Neurotics Story was set to premiere in 2020, but was delayed by the arrival of the Covid pandemic.
The film, directed by Luke J Baker, charts the rise of the trio from their early beginnings in Harlow, through their rise, concurrent with - and as a thrilling and necessary punk counterpoint to - the evils of Thatcher's rein as Prime Minister, notably against the backdrop of the 1984-85 Miners Strike and their anthemic evergreen single 'Kick Out The Tories!'.
With a brand new Neurotics album, the brilliantly-titled Cognitive Dissidents, now in the racks, the film will now receive its premiere at London's 100 Club on Tuesday 5 December. The event will also include a full live set by the band and a Q&A hosted by DJ, journalist and longtime fan Steve Lamacq. The film will then be screened across the country from 8 September, with Q&As at selected screenings. Full dates are....
