DAMNED DOC HITS THE UK!

Filmmaker Wes Orshoski’s documentary THE DAMNED: Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead gets its long-awaited European premiere next week.
The film, charting the career of Croydon’s finest, will screen at the Prince Charles Cinema in London’s Leicester Square at 6pm and 9pm on Wednesday 3 June. Rat Scabies and Brian James will join Orshoski at both screenings for Q&As.
The film will then tour the UK, with Scabies partaking in a Q&A at the Arthouse in Crouch End, London on 4 June. Former Damned bassists Paul Gray and Bryn Merrick will appear in the post-film chat at Chapter Arts, Cardiff on 8 June. Brian James and current Damned keyboardist Monty Oxymoron will answer questions at Duke’s at Komedia, Brighton on 10 June.
The follow-up to Orshoski’s acclaimed documentary LEMMY, THE DAMNED: Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead received its world premiere at SXSW in Austin in March. Shot over three years, it covers the band’s complex and volatile history, from the early days to their 35th anniversary Tour.
The film features appearances by the Motorhead legend himself, plus Chrissie Hynde, Mick Jones, Duff McKagan, Ian MacKaye, Jello Biafra and members of Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Melvins, T.S.O.L., Buzzcocks, Adverts and Offspring, and not forgetting Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason, unlikely producer of The Damned’s Music For Pleasure album.
