Legendary record producer CLIVE LANGER has unveiled the first single from the new album by his band project THE CLANG GROUP.
'Page 1' is taken from New Clang, which comes eight years on from the band's debut album Practice.
A co-founder of notorious 70s art-rockers Deaf School, as well as a producer of such high profile names as David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Madness, Dexys Midnight Runners and more, Langer is joined in the band by fellow Deaf School co-conspirators John Wood (keys) and Gregg Braden (drums), along with Jamie Reynolds, former bassist of Noughties chart stars Klaxons.
"‘Page 1’ is a reflection, a look at time spent and the difference between taking a right turn or a left turn can make in life," ponders Langer. "Decisions made. It’s celebrating a life, but wondering if there were any missed experiences or opportunities; ultimately saying ‘tragedy and loss followed his soul but he never let them take their toll’.”
'Page 1' is available to stream/download here.
New Clang is set for release through Fretsore Records on 21 February, when the band will be playing a special launch gig at West Hampstead Arts Club, London.
