In a further celebration of Ace Records 50th Anniversary, five classic longplayers from the Chiswick Records catalogue are to be reissued on coloured vinyl.
The Chiswick label was formed in 1975 by Ted Carroll and Roger Armstrong of London's Rock On record stalls, before giving birth the the Ace Records reissue empire in the early 80s.
One of the earliest LPs released by Chiswick, the self-titled debut by Motorhead, was first released in August '77. It's now reissued once again on silver vinyl.
Following their 1978 reunion, The Damned returned with a bang, releasing two albums - Machine Gun Etiquette and The Black Album - for Chiswick, both widely considered career high points. The former is being reissued on fuchsia vinyl and the latter on white vinyl.
In 1984, The Damned returned to Chiswick's sister label Big Beat in 1984 as Naz Nomad & The Nightmares, reliving the golden age of the mid-60s Nuggets era. This is being reissued on suitably psychedelic purple vinyl.
The final release in the series is Link Wray's Early Recordings, comprising sides originally recorded for Philadelphia's Swan label and first released by Chiswick in 1978, one of its earliest reissue albums. This edition comes in sunflower yellow vinyl.
Set for reissue on 28 November, each of these releases is available to pre-order from acerecords.co.uk
