Darrell Bath from Soho sleaze-merchants THE CRYBABYS and Rob Carlyle of NYC rockers THE COMPULSIONS join forces for a European Tour this month.
Kicking off at Brighton Pipeline on 15 March and followed by a London show at Tufnell Park's Aces & Eights with RICH RAGANY & THE DIGRESSIONS, the Return Of The Rock'n'Roll Double Whammy tour winds through Germany and Sweden before heading back to England with a show at Canterbury's New Inn. Full dates below...
Founding The Crybabys at the start of the 90s with Boys guitarist Honest John Plain, Bath has also slung his guitar with the likes of Ian Hunter, Dogs D'Amour, UK Subs and The Vibrators. The revolving door line-up of The Compulsions, meanwhile, has featured members of Guns N' Roses, The New York Dolls, Psychedelic Furs and Hanoi Rocks, as well as legendary Bowie guitarist Earl Slick.
The pair met for the first time on an (almost) acoustic tour of the UK and Germany and had such a blast, they've decided to do it all over again.
“It couldn’t have gone any better,” says Bath. "For starters, our music worked together perfectly: A bit of blues, a bit of boogie-woogie, maybe a ballad or three thrown in for good measure.”
“I was really impressed by all the rock ‘n’ rollers over in England and
Germany. Much better crowds than here in the States,” says Carlyle. “I’m
also psyched for Sweden. I’ve never played there before but I’ve heard
nothing but great things about the Scandinavian music scene. Can’t f*ckin’
wait!”
