Fast-rising southcoast newcomers CARNE have just dropped a brand new single.
Evoking the spirit of 90s grunge, 'MSG' was recorded at Brighton Electric Studio with engineer Ben Gibson, before being mixed by Jag Jago (Gojira, Max Raptor, The Ghost Of A Thousand) and mastered by mastering legend Howie Weinberg.
Based in Brighton, Carne is the latest project from French-born musician and composer Carmen Mellino, sometime guitarist for Republica and resident artist at London's Roundhouse. The band have been playing shows around Brighton and the rest of the UK, including a packed Electric Ballroom opening for Les Negresses Vertes.
“'MSG' is about the clarity that comes when you finally take someone off the pedestal," she explains. "The realisation you liked the ‘sugarcoated’ version you put on them. To me, the opening lyrics ‘hide your sons for your daughters’ is a personal realization that grows into a universal feminine call to see things as they really are.”
'MSG' is available to stream/download here.
