MADNESS's classic debut album will be the subject of live discussion this week in London.
Released in the autumn of 1979 on Stiff records, One Step Beyond spawned no fewer than four hit singles with covers of Ska legend Prince Buster's title track and band originals 'The Prince', 'Night Boat To Cairo' and 'My Girl'.
The subject of a book in Bloomsbury's respected 33⅓ series, the album will be discussed at the R'n'R Book Club at The Dublin Castle in Camden Town - a venue with which Madness are closely associated - on Wednesday 4 July. The book's author, musician and onetime 2 Tone signee Terry Edwards, will be talking to host Julie Hamill. Also in attendance will be Madness bassist Mark Bedders' Bedford, now a bandmate of Edwards in The Near Jazz Experience.
Tickets for the event are available here.
As previously anounced, The Near Jazz Experience are touring the UK this autumn with The Nightingales and Stewart Lee.
