What?
Rock legend Billy Idol visits hmv to sign copies of his autobiography ‘Dancing With Myself’ and new album ‘Kings & Queens of The Underground’.
Billy’s eagerly anticipated memoir ‘Dancing With Myself' follows his life from childhood to the present day, including charting his journey from frontman for punk band Generation X to multi-platinum selling solo recording artist. Written alongside his book is Billy’s latest studio album and first record in nearly a decade, entitled ‘Kings & Queens Of The Underground. Produced by the legendary Trevor Horn CBE with two tracks by Greg Kurstin (Sia, Katy Perry), ‘Kings and Queens of The Underground’ sees Billy continue his collaboration with guitarist Steve Stevens.
Prior to his musical career, Billy’s time was divided between the London suburbs and Long Island, NY. Eventually settling in London, Billy became a member of the iconic group of young punks known as ‘the Bromley contingent’, which included Siouxsie Sioux and Steve Severin of Siouxsie and The Banshees. It was the Sex Pistols whose music influenced Billy to form Generation X, but he would combine his distinctive fashion and punk attitude with pop sensibilities and a respect for rock greats like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to create some of the most anthemic and enduring rock music of the new wave era. His groundbreaking music videos were also some of the most innovative and iconic videos ever played on MTV.
Billy will be touring in support of ‘Kings and Queens of The Underground’ including dates in London on 9 November and Manchester on 10 November.
