Enigmatic psych-rock boffins THE BEVIS FROND celebrate the re-release of three classic albums with a special one-off London show this weekend.
Formed in Walthamstow, north-east London in the late-80s and revolving around songwriter guitarist Nick Saloman, The Bevis Frond have generated numerous off-radar albums, becoming hugely respected in their field despite not being particularly high profile. A move to the South Coast combined with the release of The Leaving Of London in 2011 has heralded a new burst of activity, with the band signing to Fire Records for a comprehensive reissue programme leading up to their 30th Anniversary next year.
The Record Store Day reissue of the albums Miasma and Inner Marshland is now followed by 1990's Any Gas Faster, New River Head from '91 and lost masterpiece London Stone from '92.
Set for release on Friday 29 July on double-vinyl and CD, replete with bonus tracks, Any Gas Faster, New River Head and London Stone are available to pre-order now.
Now solidified with a line-up featuring drummer Dave Pearce, guitarist Paul Simmons (also with THE CRAVATS) and former HAWKWIND bassist Adrian Shaw, the Frond play a rare London show at Birthdays in Dalston on Sunday 10 July. Support comes from JACK ELLISTER and tickets are available here.
