THE BERMONDSEY JOYRIDERS www.myspace.com/thebermondseyjoyridersofficial The London blooze-punk trio announce a change of line-up this week - although former Damned sticksman Rat Scabies is now off, having spent just over a year behind the kit, the band’s ’77 super group’ status is not about to be compromised. Joining Gary Lammin (Cock Sparrer) and Martin Stacey (Chelsea) in Rat’s place for future shows will beat-keeper to The Vibrators and UK Subs, Eddie Edwards, who guested with The Bermondsey Joyriders last month, when they supported Marky Ramone at Islington’s O2 Academy. An auspicious gig all round, that Vive le Rock magazine sponsored show saw the band receive en masse calls for an encore, as well an invitation to return to the Academy in August to support another legendary US punk. Details of this show are to be announced very soon, and in the meantime Eddie plays his first gig as a fully fledged Joyrider in Romford tomorrow night. The guys have also just revealed that they’ll be back at the 100 Club again on September 7th, to perform another set featuring live narration from MC5 manager and 60s counterculture icon John Sinclair, who also appears on forthcoming second album Noise and Revolution.
