BALAAM AND THE ANGEL unveil their first new music in thirty years in the form of a brand new video.
'Dancing Senseless' is the first taste of Forces Of Evil, a four-track EP set for release on 25 October, just in time for the 40th Anniversary of the band's first ever EP, World Of Light.
Formed in Cannock, Staffordshire in 1983 by Motherwell-born brothers Des, Jim and Mark Morris, the trio quickly found success through a string of independent EPs and support slots on the then thriving Goth scene, before signing to Virgin for the release of their hit debut album The Greatest Story Ever Told, leading to US dates and support slots with the likes of The Mission, Kiss, The Cult, Aerosmith and Iggy Pop.
The four songs on the new EP were recorded at Manchester's Oxygene Studios with Christoph Bride, noted for his recent work with The Chameleons and Kirk Brandon / Theatre Of Hate / Spear Of Destiny.
“The process of creating this collection of songs has been incredibly unique and has prompted us to revisit some previously overlooked ideas," says guitarist Jim. "The track ‘Forces Of Evil’ had its origins way back in the start of our musical journey. It was a song that we had set aside because the lyrics seemed too naïve and simplistic however fast forward four decades and we have a set of lyrics and sentiment that could not be more current and universally appropriate.”
Set for release on 12" picture disc and red vinyl through their own Darklands Recordings label, Forces Of Evil is available to pre-order here.
