Fast rising Texan roots rocker ASH GRAY has just unveiled a new video.
Now based in Sheffield, Gray shot the video for 'The Other Man' last year in the West Texas desert during a run of shows with his band THE BURNERS.
"We shot the video on a southwest tour on one of our stops in Alpine, Texas," he explains. "With its dusty Southern vibe it definitely feels in keeping with the description of the band as 'western desert acid trip music' from our drummer who shot it. The big sky and beautiful lighting and landscape are shared by neighbouring town, Marfa, which has become a new favourite for the film industry and naturally screamed at us to do a video."
Taken from 2018's Chickenwire album, the track can also be heard on the band's recent live album Live 55 on LuvRock Records. If it rocks like it's got a tyre-iron in its pocket, it might be because the track was mixed by legendary Texan rock producer Chris 'Frenchie' Smith, noted for his work with ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Meat Puppets and his own band Young Heart Attack.
Raised in Austin to Brit parents, Gray played in local glamsters Drama Queen and StunGun before heading to NYC to hook up with legendary biker-rock band The Cycle Sluts From Hell, alongside members of Nuclear Assault and Warrior Soul. Between times he played in London punkgrass outfit The High-Class Family Butchers.
Live 55 is available on CD, vinyl and download here.
