A new package tour will be hitting venues up and down the UK next month featuring four of hottest up'n'coming punk bands.
The brainchild of former Snuff bassist Lee Erinmez, the HI-STAKES TOUR will feature sets from L.A.'s Fat Wreck-signings THE LAST GANG, Brummie crossover punks LAST HOUNDS (pictured), Bristol queer punk'n'rollers SPLIT DOGS and London hardcore bruisers CLOBBER.
Each band will take a turn at headlining - and opening - as the bill rotates from town to town, so get there early. There'll also be an exclusive 10" EP featuring a track from each band, while the tour will also have its own beer!
“We’re UK bound in September and couldn’t be more stoked," says The Last Gang's Brenna Red. "Our Hi Stakes tour is gonna be 8 shows of ripper bands. Plus we’ll have a limited edition EP only available on this run. So make sure you don’t miss out.”
"We are super stoked to be hitting the road in September with a selection of some of the finest bands in current punk scene," adds Last Hounds' Ben Taylor. "Every band on this bill has something huge to offer each night and it feels like this will be one to remember!!”
“This tour is the result of over 30 years of being involved in the most exciting, but at times fragile sector of the music industry," explains Erinmez, "often illustrated by the hard work and support from the Music Venue Trust, Live music Industry Venues & Entertainment and the MMF (Music Managers Forum UK). One of the aims of this tour was to see if various stakeholders involved could consider relatively minor revisions to their business models, with a view to helping bands operating at this level reduce costs and generate more revenue.
“So far, the response has been very positive, particularly from a number of sponsors offering services at a reduced rate, taking payment after the tour, or just being willing to consider variations of traditional ways of doing business, that could support artists and make touring more viable. A special mention to Ian Richards of Academy Music Group for the encouragement and trust.”
