ADELAIDE IN THE SHADE!

ADELAIDE IN THE SHADE!

Cult Aussie garage-punks THE LIPSTICK KILLERS are to have one of their late 70s shows documented on a new live album.

Forming out of the ashes of original Sydney punks, The Psycho Surgeons, the Killers released a sole 7", the Deniz Tek-produced monumental 'Hindu Gods Of Love' in November '79 before the band shipped out to the US in search of fortune and fame, a venture which ultimately proved their undoing.

The sixteen tracks on Tour De Force - Live In Adelaide 1979 - which include covers of The 13th Floor Elevators and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels - were initially recorded for radio broadcast, seeing their first official release on 2021's double-CD Strange Flash anthology on Grown Up Wrong!, but now see a stand-alone vinyl release though the same label.

Set for release on 12 September, Tour De force is available to pre-order from Rough Trade in the UK, Sound Merch in Australia and Midheaven in the US.
