East Anglian rock'n'roll legends ROCKHOUSE are celebrating their 50th Anniversary year with a series of gigs this autumn.
Formed on the Essex/Suffolk Border in 1975 by guitarist Dick Keeble and bassist Bob Plumb (a DJ at Braintree's 2Js rock'n'roll club), the band have shared stages with such legends as Carl Perkins, Charlie Feathers and Charlie Gracie as well as backing late Matchbox star Graham Fenton on several occasions. Matchbox guitarist Dick Callan also played with The band for a few years, while they've also counted the likes of Kid Jensen and John Peel among their fans.
"We have always tried to be a team," says Bob of the band's staying power. "Our original lead guitarist, although retired, sometimes gets up to play a couple of numbers when local. We have had various members go different reasons. Work, family, illness. And even someone dying.... I am the last of the original band. We keep playing because we love the music we play."
