ACCEPT NO ALTERNATIVE!

With a brand new studio album just released, ALTERNATIVE TV are set to have their original recordings for the Deptford Fun City label reissued through Cherry Red.

Across four CDs, Viva La Rock’n’Roll: The Complete Deptford Fun City Recordings 1977-1980 brings together the band’s two albums for the label – The Image Has Cracked and Vibing Up The Senile Man (Part One) – along with Fire From Heaven, the debut album from founder MARK PERRY’s following band THE GOOD MISSIONARIES, and his solo release Snappy Turns. Also included are non-album singles, JOHN PEEL sessions and tracks from What You See… Is what You Are, their split album with HERE & NOW.

The set features a weighty booklet with comprehensive new sleevenotes by Perry himself, plus many rare images.

Due for release on 30 October, Vive La Rock’n’Roll can be pre-ordered from Cherry Red.

ALTERNATIVE TV viva la rock n roll

Formed in 1977 by Sniffin’ Glue fanzine creator Perry, Alternative TV went to Deptford Fun City for their second single ‘How Much Longer’.  The label, which also released records by SQUEEZE, was the brainchild of Miles Copeland, brother of police drummer Stewart and later founder of the I.R.S. label.

Alternative TV released their latest album Opposing Forces in July.

You can read a brand new interview with the band in the latest edition of Vive Le Rock!
