York rockers SEGRËGATES are launching their new video exclusively with Vive Le Rock!
And there are no prizes for guessing who their biggest musical inspiration is! They’ve even named their debut album after late MOTORHEAD axeman Würzel, and have shared a stage with his former cohort Phil Campbell. Moreover, the album also features a cover of ‘Riding With The Driver’.
Bradford post-punks 1919 issue their second studio album next month – 33 years after their first!
Initially formed in 1980, the band were linked to the nascent Goth movement, thanks to their heavy, melodic, intense dance music and at one time featured a pre-ZODIAC MINDWARP Mark Manning. They released three indie hit singles and the Earth Song EP, as well as the 1984 debut album Machine.
Founder and guitarist Mark Tighe convened a new line-up in 2014 and, joined by early drummer Mick Reed, began playing several European dates before signing to Westworld Recordings for the release of new material. With work on the new album Bloodline completed, however, Tighe was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away earlier this year.
Bloodline is set for release by Westworld on 17 March. It’s available to pre-order here.
Following hot on the heels of last year’s critically acclaimed new album Music Must Destroy – which we voted Album of the Year – THE RUTS DC are gearing up to take 2017 by storm, launching their new single exclusively with Vive Le Rock!
‘Kill The Pain’ heralds the latest burst of activity from the band as they prepare to head out on the road as special guests to THE STRANGLERS on a major UK Tour throughout March and early April.
Lifted from Music Must Destroy, the band’s first new rock recordings since 1981, ‘Kill The Pain’ features backing vocals from STIFF LITTLE FINGERS frontman Jake Burns and SPEAR OF DESTINY / THEATRE OF HATE frontman Kirk Brandon. Having successfully toured together as the ever evolving DEAD MEN WALKING acoustic tour, it was the perfect opportunity to feature the iconic frontmen on the single.
“One of the many highlights of last year was hooking up with Jake and Kirk to do some Dead Men Walking acoustic shows,” explains bassist and vocalist Segs. “Four veterans in one van, how would that go?! In between singing we didn’t stop talking and laughing. It just felt right to have them sing on the single. What with The Stranglers tour coming up, 2017 looks like another exciting year for The Ruts DC.”
‘Kill The Pain’ is released on 3 March via Westworld/Sosumi Recordings (alongside a previously unreleased instrumental version) and is available to pre-order now from iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Amazon US and iTunes US.

Texan roots rocker TOMMY HALE has announced a series of UK dates for April.

Magnificent Bastard is available now on Holiday Disaster Records from Amazon and iTunes.

Fans disappointed by the cancellation of RADIO STARS’ final 100 Club show, can seek solace in the knowledge that the Class of ’77 pop-punks are to have their career celebrated in a major new box set.
