Kiwi punks THE CAVEMEN announce their arrival in the U.K. with their self-titled debut album through Dirty Water Records.
Coming together as teenagers, the potty-mouthed Auckland foursome have gained something of a reputation for upsetting folk, forcing them to find a new, and hopefully more tolerant, audience elsewhere. On the decision to move, the band’s singer Paul Caveman explains, “No bar will have us, no station will play us… We might as well bugger off to the other side of the world.”
Drawing on the influence of THE CRAMPS, THE STOOGES and the mighty DEAD MOON, the band’s debut was originally issued on their home turf late last year by NZ label 1:12 Records. It’s available to buy digitally and on crystal clear or toxic green 12″ vinyl here.
Original UK77 punk legends ALTERNATIVE T.V. have revealed a video for their brand new single.
‘This Little Girl’ is one half of a double A-side 7″ vinyl single, coupled with ‘Art School Project’. It’s available now priced £5 through the band’s website. Neither of the tracks feature on their current widely acclaimed album Opposing Forces, which is also available.
Aussie rock legend CHRIS ‘KLONDIKE’ MASUAK returns this month with a brand new album, his first since 2011.
A member of pioneering Aussies RADIO BIRDMAN’s classic line-up, Masuak has been involved in some of Australia’s most noted rock bands, including SCREAMING TRIBESMEN, NEW CHRISTS and HITMEN.
Now dividing his time between Sydney and Viveiro in northern Spain, although no longer involved with Birdman, Mazuak hasn’t allowed the grass to grow under his feet. Following on from his explorations in the blues with 2011’s Workhorse, he’s now recruited his Spanish neighbours THE VIVEIRO WAVE RIDERS for Brujita, an album of scorching pop-rock with nods towards Detroit, THE DICTATORS and FLAMIN’ GROOVIES, and of course, his former colleagues, on the tracks ‘Birdbrain’ and ‘No Younger’.
Rabble-rousing ska-punks SONIC BOOM SIX return with a brand new album next month and a whole bunch of dates throughout the summer!

The deluxe CD edition of The F-Bomb comes with a bonus disc of the band’s set at The Owl Sanctuary in Norwich. It’s out on 28 May and is available to pre-order here.
Following the release, Sonic Boom six have a busy summer of festival shows, including the Vive Le Rock-sponsored CAMDEN ROCKS on Saturday 4 June, and Big Cheese magazine’s Big Send Off at Shepherds Bush Empire on Sunday 17 July. Full dates are…..

U.K. blues-rockers PEARL HANDLED REVOLVER unleash their long-awaited third album this month, and are launching their brand new video for the title track exclusively through Vive Le Rock!
If The Devil Cast His Net finds the band tempering their organic blues with a mindbending dose of swirling psych-rock. Recorded, like their previous releases, at their own studio, the album is set for release through their own label on 29 April.
Speaking of the album, frontman Lee Vernon says, “The biggest challenge for any band is capturing the essence of the ‘live performance’. When we perform, it’s the chemistry between us that feeds the track’s energy helping to create that organic, unpredictable magic that is so often missing in the unnatural environment of the studio. We recreated our stage set-up and just played, recording everything as we went.”
Coming together from across the Chiltern Hills of south-central England, Pearl Handled Revolver have already released two albums and two E.Ps since 2010, touring the U.K. and Europe widely, sharing stages with with the likes of BLACK CROWES, STRAY, THE QUIREBOYS, THE BLOCKHEADS, WILKO JOHNSON, BLACK STAR RIDERS and TOOTS & THE MAYTALLS.
The band are currently putting together a full U.K. tour and festival dates for the summer. In the meantime they play a special album launch party at The Quarry Theatre, Bedford on Saturday 30 April. Tickets priced £10 are available here.

Brit rock dandies LAST GREAT DREAMERS have created a new video for their upcoming new single, which they’re sharing today exclusively through Vive Le Rock!
The video for‘Glitterball Apocalypse’, which is set for release on 15 April through Ray Records, blends surreal, nightmarishly psychedelic imagery with sublime performance footage of the quartet in action, offering a tantalising taste of what audiences can expect when they hit the road as guests of TIGERTAILZ on a UK tour starting this weekend.
The visual mix of dark humour and the Dreamers’ signature louche glamour perfectly complements the themes of the track. As frontman Marc Valentine explains, “It’s a song about the casualties of rock n roll. I think it’s probably inspired by our own journey through the years – we’ve lost a quite a few friends along the way, either through tragedy or self-destruction. There have been some exceptionally dark times and often it does feel like we’re the last ones standing. It still has all the Dreamers trademarks; it’s full of swagger and hook-laden choruses, I don’t think the fans will be disappointed”.
‘Glitterball Apocalypse’ is the second single to be taken from The Dreamers’ forthcoming new album. Due for release this autumn, it will be the band’s first collection of new material since Marc and guitarist Slyder reunited in late 2014. With powerhouse rhythm section Ian Scruffykid (bass) and Denley Slade (drums) now completing the line-up, Slyder promises, “We genuinely feel that we have an album of hit singles, we’re not trying to be or sound like anything else, we’re just letting it flow and enjoying the process. It will be an unmistakable Dreamers album, but maybe the lyrical content will be a bit darker… We’ve certainly lived a bit and experienced a lot since we last wrote together.” The release is being funded by a 90 day PledgeMusic campaign.

London post-goth chanteuse Sukie Smith and MADAM have released a video for a track from their new album due this summer.
‘When I Met You’ is taken from the album Back To The Sea, set for release on 1 July through Shilling Boy Records. It’s available to pre-order at a special low price through iTunes.
Their first new album in five years, it follows 2011’s acclaimed Gone Before Morning and features guest appearances from Adam Franklin of SWERVEDRIVER and Frankie Frankie of THROW DOWN BONES.
‘When I Met You’ is the first of four videos currently in production, with videos due to be made of all eleven album tracks.
Speaking of the video, Sukie says “Directed by Devon Dickson, and set in the badlands of Bethnal Green, Hackney Wick and Stratford, it is a late night journey of memory, regret, fury, violence, but ultimately of survival. Two separate entities, which combined become much more than the sum of their parts …. This song is about a boyfriend getting beaten half to death, taken to hospital, expected to die and what happened while he/ she was there. The film is about the aftermath of the events in the song – the anonymous cab ride giving Sukie the space to relive the events that have just unfolded, joined by the people who ghost ride in her mind as comfort or trouble. Subterranean and tense, it is about the thousands and thousands of stories playing out in this huge city. Every part of London reminds me of someone, a part of my life that’s not now, it is not now.”
The Bristol second-wavers are the subject of a new book by the band’s former drummer and Vive Le Rock contributor Shane Baldwin.
Last Rockers: The Vice Squad Storyincludes interviews with fellow Vice Squad members, including both vocalists, Beki and Lia, as well as John Peel, Garry Bushell, Charlie Harper, Alvin Gibbs, members of Vice Squad precursors TV BRAKES and many more friends and associates. It also chronicles the story of Bristol labels Heartbeat and Riot City, with contributions from label boss Simon Edwards.
The book features 12 pages of photos, many previously unpublished, plus a detailed Vice Squad gig list compiled by bassist Mark Hambly.
Due for publication by ACM Retro on 24 April, it’s available to pre-order here priced £13.95.
Last Rockers is getting an official launch on Wednesday 27 April at The Thunderbolt, 124 Bath Road, Bristol, featuring a Q&A session and a live set from THE SETBACKS. It kicks off at 7.30 and admission is FREE!
