Stoke hardcore legends DISCHARGE have signed to Nuclear Blast and have unveiled a video for the new track ‘NWO’.

The band, who initially formed in 1977 and have been as influential on the birth of thrash metal as they have punk, are planning a new album End Of Days for next year.

In a statement the band say: “DISCHARGE are very happy to say we’ve signed to Nuclear Blast Records, a label that knows the genre and believes in what we do. We love the family atmosphere that revolves around the label and we are proud to be on their roster of great bands, some of whom are friends of ours. We’re excited about our new album End Of Days, with three quarters of the original classic line up (Bones, Rainy and Tezz), plus Dave on drums and JJ Janiak on vocals – who captures the original DISCHARGE sound and spirit. Original drummer Tezz moves onto rhythm guitar, so this is the first time in the band’s history that we’ve had a five-piece line-up. End Of Days are upon us, but it‘s just the beginning for us with Nuclear Blast…the nightmare continues!”.

Check out the video for ‘NWO’.

Discharge have also been confirmed for next year’s Rebellion Festival. Full dates so far are as follows….

Fronted by the charismatic Trevor Tanner, The Bolshoi formed in Trowbridge in 1984, quickly becoming indie chart faves with the EP Giants and the sinister single ‘Happy Boy’ and supporting THE CULT, MARCH VIOLETS and various goth and paisley underground bands. Two albums and a string of nearly-hit singles followed before they split in 1989 with and album in the can.

Tanner is currently based in the US working on rerecordings of Bolshoi classics. You can find out more at trevortanner.com

The go-to guitarist for punk’n’sleaze, Darrell joined the UK SUBS in the late 80s before throwing in his lot with THE BOYS’ Honest John Plain in THE CRYBABYS. Following memorable bouts with DOGS D’AMOUR, NIKKI SUDDEN and MOTT THE HOOPLE legend IAN HUNTER, he hooked up with The Vibrators for two stints.

The new album Roll Up was recorded with Crybabys drummer Robbie Rushton and bassist Chris McDougall and can be pre-ordered from Cargo.

Essex punk legends the NEWTOWN NEUROTICS are to have their acclaimed live album Triumph Over Adversity given a full US release through new punk label Violated Records.

The album, which documents the band’s celebrated April ’87 show at Uxbridge’s Brunel University, was initially released during the summer on their own Cruel Binary label via the band’s website. It will be the debut release for Violated, a subsidiary of Philadelphia’s Creep Records, and hits the streets on Friday 20 November.

Says band frontman Steve Drewett: “We are really pleased the way this album is taking off, of course we were confident it would do well, because the special quality of this remarkable live recording was indicating that it was going to create waves.  Now it is to be released in the States we are confident that the album’s success has only really just begun.”

Listen to ‘Living With Unemployment’.

Although marred by sadness at the death in May of original bassist Colin Dredd, 2015 has seen the band’s profile become higher than ever, with gigs in the UK and Ireland, including a performance at the Rebellion Festival. A return to Rebellion in 2016 is already confirmed with the band planning more UK shows and hopefully recording new material.

Legendary French rockers LITTLE BOB STORY see their classic ’77 album Off The Rails reissued next month. And to celebrate, their diminutive frontman plays a super-rare London show with his new band LITTLE BOB BLUES BASTARDS at the 100 Club.

Hailing from the French rock’n’roll hub of Le Havre, Little Bob Story – fronted by Italian-born Roberto Piazza – came to the attention of punks, having appeared at the now infamous Mont de Marsan festivals of ’76 and ’77. Their high-energy r’n’b saw them often compared to DR FEELGOOD and the MC5 and earned them a deal with Chiswick Records and later a spot on Phonogram’s ubiquitous red-sleeved New Wave comp.

The Chiswick album Off The Rails was produced by DUCKS DELUXE and TYLA GANG frontman Sean Tyla and engineered by a shredded John Burns immediately after recording the first MOTORHEAD album!

Off The Rails – which is boosted by five tracks recorded live at Dingwalls in 1978 – can be ordered here.

Little Bob Blues Bastards – who are also celebrating the release of a band new album Howlin’ – play the 100 Club on Oxford Street on Tuesday 29 December. Get your tickets here.

Rumour has it that the original line-up of THE HELLACOPTERS, featuring guitarists Nicke Andersson and Dregen, will reunite to play the Sweden Rock festival next year.

The reunion will mark the 20th Anniversary of the band’s Swedish Grammy-winning debut album Supershitty To The Max. The album will also be getting the deluxe reissue treatment to coincide.

Sweden Rock takes place in Solvesborg from 8-11 June.

The Hellacopters originally came together in 1994 when BACKYARD BABIES guitarist Dregen hooked up with Andersson, at that time drumming for ENTOMBED. Dregen left after two albums, subsequently playing with MICHAEL MONROE, while the Hellacopters continued for another ten years.

Both musicians have been active this year, Dregen rejoining Backyard Babies’ for the comeback album Four By Four, and Andersson issuing a new album, Honk Machine, with IMPERIAL STATE ELECTRIC.

UK SUBS have announced a Pledgemusic campaign to fund the release of their final official album.

As fans will be aware, the band’s albums have always been titled in alphabetical order, beginning with Another Kind Of Blues in 1979, followed by Brand New Age, Crash Course, Diminished Responsibility and so on and so forth. They’ve now reached the letter Z. While they maintain that they’re not splitting up, and may well release various singles and EPs in future, Ziezo will be their final studio album.

The band have been signed to various labels over the years, most recently with Captain Oi, but this time around they’ve chosen to keep it in the family and get their fans involved. Check out their Pledgemusic page for details how.
