After 15 years of activity BLITZKID will close the coffin and will go on their last European tour ever!
This will be the last chance to see one of the best live bands of the last decade on a stage on this continent.
There will be a very special release from People Like You Records for this final tour, and you might expect a few surprises…
Blitzkid began in Bluefield, WV in the winter of 1997. In the time that they have been a band, they have toured consistently all over the US and overseas. The band is headed up by Argyle Goolsby and TB Monstrosity.
Over the years, they have garnered critical underground acclaim for their tireless work ethic, consistent, ever evolving album output, disregard for bad tour routing and dedication to giving their audience their money’s worth through providing energetic live shows and playing great songs.
Blitzkid has a prodigious following in the states as well as Europe and have shared the stage, in some cases regularly, with many and great notable acts. Blitzkid have also been a regular part of many of the biggest festivals in Europe including M’era Luna, Rock My Ass, Endless Summer, Summer Breeze, and WGT.
Blitzkid are signed to Century Media/People Like You Records worldwide.
Since they have been together, the band has captured the imaginations of fans of underground music all over the world. At Blitzkid shows, there is no separation between the band and the fans, and you can expect it to be a catharsis of emotion, intensity and a visible exorcism through raw melodicism.
In Feb. 2012 Blitzkid announced their disbandment planned for the end of 2012. The Mayas predicted this. Love for one another and the music however remains despite their return to the living.
Their aim has, and always will be, to create something meaningful for themselves and others through songs that stand the test of time. Now we wait and see…

The Straps are an English streetpunk band, formed in 1978 in Battersea, South London. Jim Walker of The Pack (who later became Theatre of Hate) was a drummer for the band in the early 1980s. Other notable members included Andi Sexgang and two other former Pack members, brothers Simon and Jonathan Werner.
The band played their first gig at The Latchmere pub in Battersea Park Road in 1978. They enjoyed a cult following around London, and subsequently performed alongside The Damned, Sham 69 and Stiff Little Fingers. Stan Stammers, a former Epileptics bassist (and later of Theatre of Hate), joined in 1979. Simon Werner and Johnny Grant (aka Jock Strap) also formed Bartok with Rat Scabies and Jah Wobble, recording a 12" single called "Insanity" (1983).
Grant went on to form Freakshow 1984, performing around the UK without any record releases. The Straps reformed in 1991 for a one-off gig at the Brixton Academy with some other original punk bands, including Sham 69, UK Subs and The Lurkers. The Straps toured and played the Rebellion Festival three years running, until Grant had an accident injuring his right knee. The band separated again in 2008.
The band split up in 2008, but reformed this year with Jock Strap on vocals, Dave Reeves on guitar, Phil McDermott (ex EastEnd Badoes) on lead guitar, Mark Geraghty (ex 16 Guns) on bass and Pete Davies (ex-UK Subs) on drums. They reformed originally to play the aborted Last Jubilee & Punk By The Sea festivals, but ended up playing with Sham 69, UK Subs & Vice Squad amongst others at the now famous DIY punk show at the Milton Arms after PBTS collapsed on the 3rd day.
This experience brought all five members closer together, and they were since invited to play two gigs in July, headling a sell-out show at The Fighting Cocks in Kingston, and supporting 1976 punk stalwarts ‘Chelsea’ at the legendary 100 Club.
A new album is now in the pipeline, if they can interest a label and distributor.
The Straps headline The BarFly in Camden, London on Saturday 20th October.

Punk ukulele anti-society the pUKEs proudly present their debut video ‘Will I Learn’. The track was written by the pUKEs and produced by Dick Crippen of Tenpole Tudor fame.
Since they formed in an East London pub 18 months ago, these 17 women (plus a few blokes) have become something of a phenomenon, bashing out classic punk tunes on ukuleles. Around half the pUKEs had never played an instrument before joining the group, others have been in bands such as UK Subs, Extreme Noise Terror, Noise Agents, Lost Cherrees, Rabies Babies and Social Schism.
Their highly contagious enthusiasm for all things punk and ukulele has landed them support slots with many of the bands who inspired them, including Sham 69, Chelsea, Menace, Subhumans and Splodge.
Most of the pUKEs’ live set is made up of ultra-charming versions of well known punk classics, but the group decided to write an original song for their first recording. ‘Will I Learn’, a bitter-sweet tale of drinking too much, elbows its way in somewhere between the Ramones and the Go-Go’s. There are eighteen different ukuleles on the track, including sopranos, concerts, tenors, baritones and a banjolele.
The pUKEs are playing Shoreditch 1234 Festival on Saturday 1 September. They are set to release an EP on Damaged Goods records later this year and are heading out on tour with Bad Manners in December.
