Kilburn & The High Roads (Vocals)
Ian Dury was the ultimate English rock and roll singer, songwriter, and bandleader who initially rose to fame during the late 1970s, during the punk and New Wave era of rock music. He is best known as founder and lead singer of the British band Ian Dury and the Blockheads, though he began his musical career in pub-rock act Kilburn and the High Roads with Nick Cash from 999.
ZA is a group of three guys and nine instruments. While their music coordinates include heavy distortion, thick bass rhythms and a taste for the “bright” side of death metal, their compositions vary from ancestral melodies to free-jazz, noise, psychedelia, the songs of the shepherds of Tuva, Monty Python, drone-rock, macho post-rock or even analog electronics. And a high percentage of that amalgam has to be displayed thru’ each single song, on and off-stage.
ZA have constructed and deconstructed their songs through hundreds of concerts and several domestic tours until they have been able to release "Macumba o Muerte" (Acuarela, 2009), the album which follows their super-mega-underground debut "EKI EKI EKI Kazaaam"(Practice, 2006).
"Macumba o Muerte" features 9 songs recorded by Santi Garcia and mastered by Bob Weston (Shellac). Each track is unique and different, but all performed under the same tribal philosophy. A mixture of genres, sounds and speeds that co-exist in a perfectly smooth disorder: a traditional song from Siberia, sequenced improvisation, the recreation of an Arab market, guitar solos from Purgatory or the superposition of a hundred voices screaming at unison.
ZA have been part of some of the best independent music festivals in Spain (Primavera Sound, Sonar Festival, Tanned Tin…) have toured with Yellow Swans or Lightning Bolt and supported Excepter, Lydia Lunch, Peter Brötzmann, The Locust, Nora Keyes or Paal Nilssen Love.

THE RUNAWAYS THE MERCURY ALBUMS ANTHOLOGY 24TH MAY 2010 Theirs was a story truly born on the streets of Hollywood and left for all to review in the annals of recorded music. The history of the Runaways, now coming to life again on the big screen (with Kristen Stewart in the role of Joan Jett), is one of discovery, strong determination, bravado, teen lust and what would later become, to some, ³a can of worms.² The film will be released in the U.S. in April, with the UK release date still to be announced. But what we have to reflect back on are four albums: The Runaways, Queens of Noise, Live in Japan, and Waitin¹ For the Night. All 42 songs that were included on those original albums made for Mercury are contained on two CDs in this brand new limited edition package, The Mercury Albums Anthology. In 1976, after making several personnel changes since their seminal formation just a year prior, the newly assembled, five-member, all-female, L.A.-based band‹all underage minors at the time‹and their Svengali-like producer, Kim Fowley, caught the attention of Mercury Records and, soon enough, the dotted lines were signed. In a span of under three years, with different band members and their relentless producer/manager, they generated three studio albums and one live recording, taped at performances in front of enthusiastic crowds with their biggest fans present, in Japan. The phenomenon may have been lopsided with their spotty, regional appeal, but they broke the mold and set the trend for future female rockers to come. Comprised of teenagers using various ³stage names,² the original members often referred to as ³jailbait rockers² within the industry‹Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, Lita Ford, Sandy West and Jackie Fox‹had stars in their eyes and a fire in their bellies. And they learned and mastered their instruments on the fly while developing their songwriting skills under the supervision of Fowley, who would subsequently yield his role as the band, literally, began to disintegrate, since, like a lot of rock Œn¹ roll tales, all was not rosy below the surface. The Great Rock n Roll Swindle¹ Remastered & Repackaged Release date: 31st May 2010 In May a remastered and repackaged CD version of the soundtrack to Julien Temple¹s Œdocumentary¹, The Great Rock Œn¹ Roll Swindle¹, will be released. The film chronicles the legendary band¹s fictional rise and subsequent break-up from the perspective of ŒThe Embezzler¹, manager Malcolm McLaren. Infamous, even upon its release, the film was shunned by John Lydon and his appearance in it was taken only from old archive footage. When it came to putting together the soundtrack a similar approach was taken, with Lydon¹s vocals being taken from demo tapes and overdubbed with the rest of the band¹s newly recorded instrumental tracks. What resulted was an eclectic mix of hits, covers and guest appearances, including The Sex Pistols' own versions of The Who¹s ŒSubstitute¹, Chuck Berry¹s ŒJohnny B Goode¹ and Sid Vicious' take on Frank Sinatra's ŒMy Way¹, all nestled amongst tracks sung by Edward Tudor-Pole (of Tenpole Tudor), ŒThe Black Arabs¹ disco medley of the hits and a French version of ŒAnarchy In the UK¹ (complete with accordion). The album has now been fully remastered and comes packaged in a replica of the original vinyl sleeve, complete with gatefold digipack artwork, poster and stickers. Tracklisting: 1. God Save The Queen (Symphony) 2. Rock Around The Clock 3. Johnny B Goode 4. Road Runner 5. Black Arabs 6. Anarchy In The UK 7. Watcha Gonna Do About It 8. Who Killed Bambi? 9. Silly Thing 10. ACOUSTIC AFTER HOURS with. ADRIAN EDMONDSON and THE BAD SHEPHERDS with special guest Ella Edmondson East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf Wednesday 28th April 2010 Punk Celtic-style will be the order of the day on Wednesday 28th April when Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds take to the stage at the East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf. Their special guest will be Ade's daughter, the fabulously talented singer/songwriter Ella Edmondson. The Bad Shepherds are: Adrian Edmondson (vocals, 'thrash mandolin') - Ade is best known as a comic actor in The Young Ones, Bottom and The Comic Strip Presents, although he's no stranger to the music world, having played the Monsters of Rock and Reading Festivals with Bad News, the Hootenanny with Jools Holland, Hyde Park with The Who and he's toured with The Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band. Together The Bad Shepherds plays punk songs on folk instruments; not as a gag but because they really like the noise and they love folk instruments. It works. They perform songs by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers, The Jam, Sham 69, The Undertones, The Ramones, The Buzzcocks, The Specials, Talking Heads, Squeeze plus others, even Kratftwerk. Not all are strictly punk, of course, but they all come from roughly the same era when Ade Edmondson was a teenager. Daughter of Adrian Edmondson and Jennifer Saunders, Ella Edmondson's debut album Hold Your Horses met with much critical acclaim on its release in 2009. Never shy of a performance, and eager to grasp opportunities, Ella has toured up and down the UK many times, appearing at festivals and halls, big and small - consistently achieving rave reviews and building up an ever-growing army of loyal fans.
