HARKER UNVEIL SINGLE AND DEBUT ALBUM!

Brighton punks HARKER have unveiled a first single from their forthcoming debut album.

‘300 Cigarettes’ is taken from No Discordance, which is set for release in February.

Starting out as an acoustic project by guitarist and singer Mark Boniface in 2014, Harker have coalesced over the course of three well received EPs to include bassist and singer Phoebe Saunders, guitarist Tony Ware and drummer Matt Claxton. Drawing primary influences from Chicago and New Jersey punk, the band has gigged steadily across the UK and Europe, sharing stages with the likes of BOSTON MANOR, MOOSE BLOOD and CREEPER.

Speaking about the single, Mark explains, “’300 Cigs’ is about how people can use others emotional states to gain trust and self-assurance. At most times we can be caring, understanding and loving. But unfortunately, there are some who ignore the consequences of their actions on people, and it highlights a horrible part of human nature. At our worst, we can be self-centred, reserved and unaware of the problems we create within ourselves and within others. The song acts as a remedy to the damage left behind after we cut poisonous people out of our lives.”

Of the album, he says, “No Discordance is a beast. We’ve thrown everything at it. It’s been the most difficult, but rewarding work we’ve done.”

Set for release on 9 February, No Discordance is available to pre-order here.
