A CERTAIN RATIO ANNOUNCE DATES AND REISSUES!
Manchester post-punks A CERTAIN RATIO have just released the first albums in a major reissue programme, as well as announcing a series of UK dates for the spring.
Formed in 1978, the band were one of the first post-punk outfits, alongside the likes of GANG OF FOUR, THE POP GROUP and SCRITTI POLITTI, to embrace funk in their music, signing to Factory Records and having an underground hit on both sides of the Atlantic with second single ‘Shack Up’.
The band’s first and second albums, The Grave Yard And The Ballroom (1980) and To Each… (1981), both produced by the legendary Martin Hannett, have just been reissued, along with their 1986 album Force. More reissues will follow throughout the spring, followed by a new compilation in July.
A Certain Ratio play their last date of this year at the O2 Ritz, Manchester on 16 December – tickets – and have lined up the following dates for next year.
16 March – Newcastle, Hoochie Choochie
17 March – Glasgow, Stereo
24 March – Bristol, Fiddlers Club
25 March – Brighton, The Haunt
