AC DC-ROCK OR BUST-NEW ALBUM!

 NEW AC DC ALBUM!
AC/DC ‘ROCK OR BUST’ AVAILABLE DECEMBER 1
TURNER SPORTS TO PREMIERE NEW TRACK
‘PLAY BALL’ AS PART OF 2014 MLB ON TBS POSTSEASON CAMPAIGN
Columbia Records proudly announces the release of ‘Rock or Bust,’ the highly anticipated new studio album from AC/DC, available December 1, 2014. ‘Rock or Bust’ is the band’s first studio album in six years and features 11 new tracks. ‘Rock or Bust’ follows the immensely successful ‘Black Ice’ album, which debuted at #1 in 31 countries upon its release in 2008 and has gone on to sell nearly 8 million copies worldwide. ‘Rock or Bust’ was recorded in Spring 2014 at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC and finds AC/DC once again working with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser.
Starting September 27, Turner Sports will provide fans a sneak peek of the new track ‘Play Ball’ as part of the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign. The content will run for several weeks across TBS, the exclusive home to this year’s American League Postseason coverage, as well as leading media brands within the Turner portfolio.
“Rock or Bust” is the first AC/DC album in the band’s 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm’s condition, he will not be returning to the band. AC/DC will undertake a world tour in support of ‘Rock or Bust’ in 2015. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on ‘Rock or Bust’ and will accompany the band on tour.

JOHN LYDON SIGNING

 JOHN LYDON

John Lydon visits hmv to celebrate the release of his new autobiography ‘Anger Is An Energy: My Life Uncensored”.

Where & When?

Fri 17th October – 1:00pm – hmv 363 Oxford Street, London

Sun 19th October – 2:00pm – hmv Reading

What?

National treasure John Lydon visits hmv to sign copies of his new autobiography ‘Anger is an energy: My Life Uncensored’. The London event will be strictly limited to 300 fans who gain access by obtaining a wristband with purchase of the book from 9th October.

Always outspoken, controversial and sincere, John Lydon, formerly Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols and then lead singer of Public Image Ltd (PiL), looks back on his extraordinary life in a memoir that will be full of surprises, humour and emotion. ‘Anger Is An Energy’ will be a fresh and mature look back on a life full of incident from his beginnings as a sickly child of immigrant Irish parents who grew up in post-war London, to his present status as a vibrant, alternative national hero. John writes “this book is about the life of a risk taker. I make things safe for other people to follow in my wake.”

An enduring icon in the British musical landscape across four decades, John has released an array of eclectic records. As the notorious Sex Pistols’ frontman he spearheaded a countercultural movement of  young people from around the world, who were clamouring for change – and found it in the style and attitude of this most unlikely figurehead. His controversial image, songwriting and performance style combined with a razor sharp wit and frank social commentary incited discussion about John in the Houses of Parliament under the Traitors and Treasons Act, which still carries the death penalty. Following the Sex Pistols, John reinvented himself as the founder of experimental outfit PiL, setting in place a blueprint for a band that continues to challenge and thrive in the 2010s. Not content with leading two of the most iconic British bands, John has also collaborated with the likes of Africa Baambaata and Leftfield on innovative dance tracks.

NEW MODEL ARMY FILM

New Model Army are the subject of a feature film documentary about their history from director and Royal Television  Society Award winner Matt Reid, previously known for his 2 BBC 1 documentaries on The Royal Family, ITV’s The Savoy and Channel 4 ‘The Island” with Bear Grylls. The film covers the band from their inception to the making of “Between Dog and Wolf” and has been chosen to premiere in the UK at Raindance Film festival in London this October. Details of premiere and trailer at

www.hustlerstreetfilms.com

"New Model Army is a remarkable band – as hungry and focused as ever, with a continually regenerating audience and insatiable creative ambition…"

Synopsis & director’s notes:
New Model Army have been one of the biggest underground
music artists for over quarter of a century. To their global community of fans they mean everything. Yet mainstream success
has so far eluded them. This film is the story of the band and
in particular their charismatic and unconventional lead singer
songwriter and founder Justin Sullivan. His refusal to compromise his principles has meant that his audience has stayed
loyal, and their support has helped the band endure some
difficult moments. This is a very human story of a man who
began life in a liberal Quaker family, yet turned his back on
this and headed to Bradford where he met his muse. He found
like-minded musicians and formed the band which connected
with the mood of anger in Thatcher’s Britain, and quickly rose
to prominence. Then as international success is within their
grasp, the relationship with Justin’s songwriting partner Robb
Heaton founders, and he subsequently dies in tragic circumstances. But It is when the band lose their studio and all their
equipment, that Justin finally comes to terms with the ghosts
of his past and pursues the new radical approach to making
music which results in what many consider the band’s finest
album.
DIRECTORS NOTES:
When I wrote to the lead singer of New Model Army, asking
if I could make a documentary about them, to be honest I
never thought I would hear back. For over 30 years Justin Sul
livan had avoided mainstream media exposure, and even wrote
songs about the evils of television. They also named them
selves after Oliver Cromwell’s crack anti-monarchist troops
and I’d just spent the last 3 years making documentaries on
the British Royal Family for national television. If they were
to make a documentary, I seemed the man least likely to be
allowed to make it.
Yet he did say yes to a meeting, and as we built a rapport it
emerged that Justin is a man more complicated and interest
ing than his public profile might suggest and the irony of my
interest in them was not lost on him.
The film evolved to be the life story of one of Britain’s un
sung geniuses. It is painfully honest and some sense of tragedy
as he looks back on a career where there have been casualties
along the way. Yet through determination and self belief they
emerge stronger as they experience a creative rebirth. I hope
for the viewer it is ultimately uplifting film with an inspiring
denouement
